About Me
As a writer
I tell stories that help audiences build resilience in the face of climate disruption. I predominantly write comedy and erotica, often with a sci-fi or horror twist.
THE FOLKESTONE LADIES’ EROTIC FICTION CLUB, a short film intended for 2026/27 festival distribution is also a proof of concept for a recurring TV series. It is directed by Emmy award winner Emelie Mahdavian. The concept was inspired by my adventures as an erotic fiction writer on Substack, pen name Blythe Bradshaw.
My second short film / proof of concept for TV, GLITCHED, a sci-fi comedy co-written with Darren Lee Murphy, has been produced by Making Productions and is currently in post-production.
My first TV pilot and series bible (futuristic drama FREYA, a Scottish Gaelic language project) was created with the support of Rockall Films and Joe Lidster (scriptwriter – DOCTOR WHO, TORCHWOOD). It made the final 10% in the BBC’s Open Call for scripts.
Under the tutelage of Emmy award winning writer Trey Ellis and Ani Simon-Kennedy on Sundance Collab’s course “Screenwriting: Core Elements”, I wrote the treatment for my first feature film THE CONFUSED SEA, a Scottish Gaelic language project with sci-fi elements. I am currently working on my second treatment, an AI body horror called ROCKPOOLING.
As a producer
I worked in theatre production for over a decade, gradually building in scale and ambition of shows – until lockdown. The theatre work gave me a strong grounding in essentials like casting, contract negotiation, budget and production management, as well as finance raising, audience development, and social media, which I am now transferring into film production.
My first short film / proof of concept for a TV series, THE FOLKESTONE LADIES’ EROTIC FICTION CLUB, is now available, directed by Emmy award winner Emelie Mahdavian. Director of Photography, Garath Whyte, is a regular contributor to David Attenborough’s work, with Sound Design and Original Composition by Liz Horsman (producer for artists including Emelie Sandé and Tom Walker, as well as regular contributor to various productions for the BBC, Netflix and Channel 4). It stars Olivia Hallinan (Sugar Rush, Lark Rise to Candleford) and Bill Ward (Coronation Street, Emmerdale).
I have a nascent production company called Hag Films which is currently putting together a slate of projects intended to rewild audiences. You can follow our progress @wearehag on Instagram and TikTok.
As a director
For the stage I directed multiple new writing showcases, rehearsed readings, comedy and cabaret shows. Most notably, my final production before lockdown, OLD FOOLS, received multiple 5 star reviews and was The Independent's Pick of London Theatre for the entirety of its run.
My work in film is of an experimental nature although I am making preparations to move into scripted. Most recently I directed the poetic documentary TRANSCENDENCE, with trans artist Toby Vincer.
As a climate psychology consultant
I hold a Masters in Psychology from UEL and I'm a graduate member of the British Psychological Society as well as member of the Climate Psychology Alliance. I'm also a Cognitive Behavioural Coach accredited by the British Psychological Society.
My work focuses on our psychological response to climate disruption and how storytelling can move us towards a healthier relationship with Mother Nature.
Notable projects include:
