About Me
As a writer
My stories rewild audiences, inspiring shifts in attitudes and behaviour in relation to the natural environment. I write comedy and erotica, often with a sci-fi or horror twist.
THE FOLKESTONE LADIES’ EROTIC FICTION CLUB, a short submitted for top tier festivals, is also a proof of concept for a recurring TV series. It is directed by Emmy award winner Emelie Mahdavian. It was important to me as a bisexual woman to promote as many sexual identities on screen as possible. The concept was inspired by my adventures as an erotic fiction writer on Substack, pen name Blythe Bradshaw. Blythe’s short stories have been compiled in an anthology currently being pitched to agents and publishers.
My second short film / proof of concept for TV, GLITCHED, a sci-fi comedy co-written with Darren Lee Murphy, has been produced by Making Productions and is currently in post-production.
My first TV pilot (futuristic drama FREYA, a Scottish Gaelic language project) was written with the support of Rockall Films and Joe Lidster (scriptwriter – DOCTOR WHO, TORCHWOOD). It made the final 10% in the BBC’s Open Call for scripts.
Accolades for GLITCHED and two other shorts (SHIFT and DROP) include: Final round, Tribeca x Chanel “Through Her Lens” programme (for DROP, with Emelie Mahdavian as director); “Recommended” status, Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition 2023 (for GLITCHED); Quarter finalist, Scriptation showcase (for SHIFT).
Having completed the Sundance Collab course for screenwriting, I am now working on my first feature film script.
As a producer
I worked in theatre production for over a decade, my most high profile project being the off-West End production of OLD FOOLS (by Tristan Bernays, BOUDICA at the Globe Theatre). It received multiple 5 star reviews and was The Independent’s “Pick of London Theatre” for the entirety of its run. And then COVID, and a move into film.
My Folkestone-based production company, Hag Films, specialises in climate content intended to rewild audiences. Our first short narrative film / proof of concept for a TV series, THE FOLKESTONE LADIES’ EROTIC FICTION CLUB, is currently being submitted for top tier festivals. Directed by Emmy award winner Emelie Mahdavian, it stars Olivia Hallinan (Sugar Rush, Lark Rise to Candleford) and Bill Ward (Coronation Street, Emmerdale). Our first documentary short film, TRANSCENDENCE, is also in the process of submitting for festivals, after a work in progress screening at the Folkestone Documentary Festival.
Hag has a strong commitment to sustainability given our content remit. Both previous productions were hyperlocal and adhered to BAFTA albert guidelines. Our commitment to diversity is evidenced both on and off screen, particularly in the areas of female and trans representation. As a psychologist and wellbeing facilitator I am also uniquely placed to support neurodiversity on set as well as ensuring adherence to The Film & TV Charity’s Whole Picture Toolkit.

As a director
For the stage I directed multiple new writing showcases, rehearsed readings, comedy and cabaret shows. Most notably, my final production before lockdown, OLD FOOLS, received multiple 5 star reviews and was The Independent's Pick of London Theatre for the entirety of its run.
My work in film is of an experimental nature although I am making preparations to move into scripted. Most recently I directed the poetic documentary TRANSCENDENCE, with trans artist Toby Vincer.
As a climate psychology consultant
I hold a Masters in Psychology from UEL and I'm a graduate member of the British Psychological Society as well as member of the Climate Psychology Alliance. I'm also a Cognitive Behavioural Coach accredited by the British Psychological Society.
My work focuses on our psychological response to climate disruption and how storytelling can move us towards a healthier relationship with Mother Nature.
